Experience

Nigel Fell has been a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants for 15 years, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Ashridge Business School in 2003.

Since starting Pavilion Consultancy Ltd in 2007, Nigel has undertaken a range of work including:

• Providing strategic support and financial leadership, as part-time Finance Director of a successful Recruitment business. This has included introducing a staff incentive scheme, support for contract negotiations and improving overall business performance.
• Undertaking credit insurance risk assessments as agent for one of the market leading Credit Insurance companies. This involved visiting and analysing a large number of companies in a wide spectrum of market sectors.
• Project managing the implementation of a new finance system across multiple sites for a PLC including a harmonisation process to ensure consistent financial reporting at Group level.
• Delivering improved monthly finance reporting and financial control as part-time Finance Director of a £11m business within the construction industry. This involves providing profit and cash flow forecasts for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Leading the small finance team of a local manufacturing company to achieve strong internal financial control and reporting.,

Nigel’s previous 10 years was with Kingspan Group PLC; a £1bn turnover building materials company with an excellent track record of growth and profitability. Roles and key achievements include:

• Finance Director of Kingspan Metl-Con Division (£90m) 2004-2007
  Achieved record profits and performance and strong internal controls
  Provided strategic direction for the division as a divisional board director
  Ensured smooth business and financial integration of two acquisitions
  Responsible for investment appraisals of both acquisition and capital expenditure projects
• Finance Director of Ward Building Components Division (£85m) 2001-2003
  Facilitated the development of a 3 year strategic plan, delivering the profit projections
  Played a key role in the development of strategic planning for the division
  Chairman of the defined benefit pension scheme with £30m of net assets and 600 members
• Business & Finance Manager of Ward Building Components 1997-2000
  Presented accurate and timely management information
  Built a strong team across Finance, IT and HR.
  Developed a standard costing system across the vast range of products
